The Unbreakable Human Spirit
I am pleased to announce that I will be contributing a chapter in book Unbreakable Human Spirit as a co-author along with Lisa Nichols and thirty other wonderful contributors. The date of publication is targeted for mid- November. Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $17.95 on Amazon as well as my website.
This book will reveal personal stories that demonstrate how each author has overcome a hard ship or bounced back from something that was an ordeal and instead of getting beat down, found the gold inside instead. This is what I believe the purpose of our life is: to find the gold in the ordeals and depending on how we deal with it, we experience it as either a set-back and get set back, or as a step towards self-realization.
What is human spirit?
Human spirit is synonymous with the soul…it invokes a knowing that there is more to us than we thought. This is the place of higher awareness, insight and understanding. From that knowing we come face to face with our “inner divinity” and we find the strength and courage to move a mountain if that is what needs to be done in service to something bigger than ourselves. Sometimes this means having the right attitude towards a setback or negative experience.
I am reminded of Victor Frankl when I think of human spirit who once said: “The one thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one’s freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance.”
His ground breaking and inspiring book Man’s Search for Meaning demonstrates the meaning of unbreakable human spirit. Frankl concluded the meaning of life is found in every moment of life, even in suffering and death. The reaction one has towards something is not just the result of the condition or situation one finds oneself in, but the freedom of choice we have in terms of how we choose to allow it to affect us.
